Both the Albany State University and Darton State College baseball teams will look to continue their winning ways at home this weekend.
The Golden Rams, who clinched the SIAC Eastern Division title with a doubleheader sweep of Benedict (8-0, 8-4) last Saturday, will finish the home schedule against Paine College in a doubleheader on Saturday, followed by a single game on Sunday.
ASU (25-15 overall, 17-0 SIAC) comes into this weekend’s final SIAC series against the Lions having won 15 of their last 17 games dating back to March 1. The Rams rallied from an early 4-0 deficit to defeat Valdosta State 10-6 on Wednesday.
On Thursday, the Cavaliers extended their winning streak to 11 straight games with a 8-1 rout of Andrew College at home, after cruising to a convincing 10-0 win over the Tigers on the road on Wednesday. They hope to complete the four-game sweep of Andrew with a doubleheader that gets underway at 1 p.m. tomorrow afternoon.
