National Small Business Week is next week all over the United States. On Wednesday, Albany Mayor Dorothy Hubbard signed a proclamation declaring the week of May 12-16, 2014 as National Small Business Week.

Representatives from the Albany Area Chamber of Commerce, including President and CEO Chris Hardy, and 2014 Volunteer Chair Jim Deal, were in the mayor’s office to witness the reading of the proclamation by Mayor Hubbard.

This year marks the 52nd year of NSBW, which recognizes the contributions of small business owners nationwide.  According to the Small Business Administration, small business owners create at least two-thirds of the new jobs  across the U.S. each year.
